Australia!

I didn't die in that flight either. One might suggest that I am pressing my luck, but I intend to press further and suggest that I may actually survive this elective.
Found this delightful internet cafe which seems to exude a sweaty stench from every orifice. I have confirmed that it is definitely the building and not my own person, so you can keep your snide thoughts to yourself, you wicked, heartless cad you! I'll have you know I cleanse my entire body in a combination of goats milk and sodium hydrochloride twice daily!

It seems the house is not a spider infested pit of hades that I had imagined, though I have found a couple of tiny, dead spiders I can obsess over.

Australia itself seems to be identical to the UK in all respects, including the TV and (gratefully) the chocolate. Even the hospitals (at the brief look I have seem of one yesterday) seem to have an odd 70s quality about them.

But I have received wonderous news today! It seems my body has not been polluted with methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, which means that the Australian government deem me worthy of working in their medical sweatshops. Pity really. MRSA would have been a wonderful excuse for skiving off for another couple of weeks.

Feeling isolated from the world community though. The news service is quite awful, and I seem to only pick up occasional traces of American politics at my occasional internet visits. And at the most crucial time as well! Mr Karl Rove seems to have been up to shenanigans! I wish I could watch his political career implode in second-by-second updates. Alas, I will have to make do with what I have.

Whilst I have everyone's attention: could someone check whether or not I can use region 4 dvds in dvd players back home? I seem to recall someone mentioning that dvd players are either 2/4 or 1/3, though I may have misheard. And I'll have none of your "just buy a multi-region dvd player" smart mouth. I'm not made of money. Only Jesus was made of money, and they nailed him to a tree because of it (at least I think that's what happened. I tended to lose interest after the sections about the prostitutes)

Anyway, at least I have some degree of internet access, so I can update whenever I feel like it. But I need input! I am tiring of the lack of conversation from my soulless and bland housemates who seem fascinated only by "helping people", "going out for walks" and "big brother" (or the Australian counterpart anyway). So comment damn you!
